Shadowcat Part 2 - X-Men X-Plained #3

To pull off an additional phased block in the same villain phase, you need two ingredients:

1- villain-phase attack. Use this after your previous defense flips you to solid to get back into phased. Examples: Counter-punch, Surprise Attack. You can also use an extra ingredient #2 as an ingredient #1, at the "cost" of defending an attack in Solid in the meantime.

2- a way to defend again. Once you’re back in Phased, use this to infinite-block for a friend! Examples: being ready because your last defense was a (defense) event, getting readied by a villain-phase ready (R2R, Battle Fury, Desperate Defense), or having a (defense) event that doesn’t require an exhaust (Preemptive Strike, Defiance if the attack is against you)

A few cards fill the role of both 1 and 2- Powerful Punch, Shadow and Steel, and Quick Shift from solid (although we prefer to play it from Phased whenever we can!)

For every pair of 1&2 you have in your hand/board, you can block an additional attack! Go nuts!
