Woodturning - Waxing my Wood

In this week’s woodturning video, I started turning a bit of Magnolia that had a pretty plain grain. So I wanted to try out an interesting technique called encaustic painting. It’s a technique I saw demonstrated by Cheryl Lewis at @almost_firewood. Make sure to check out her work on her Instagram!

It’s a similar process of painting on beeswax which is mixed with demar resin (a hardening agent). The possibilities are endless with what you can do with this stuff.
