Igneous Rock Syenite and its Thin Section

Описание к видео Igneous Rock Syenite and its Thin Section

This is the igneous rock syenite. It’s a medium-to-coarse-grained intrusive rock resembling granite but with little to no quartz. Potassium feldspar is prominent, along with plagioclase feldspar. Hornblende is the most common dark mineral, although biotite may also be present. The following clips display this rock’s thin section under a microscope, first in plane-polarized light, and then in cross-polarized light.
