Amazing And famous Schindler Port Mod And Miconic 10 Elevators, Marriott Marquis, New York, NY

Welcome to my first elevator video of 2020. This is a very special one. Recorded after midnight on December 23, 2019, When you search for elevator videos on youtube, you will likely find an elevator that has been filmed a lot. It is a hotel in New York City which was one of the first in the US to have Destination Dispatch elevators using Schindler's Miconic 10 technology. Yes, I am talking about the famous New York Marriott Marquis. After about seven years of waiting, I have finally had the opportunity to film these amazing elevators. I arrived at an interesting time, as the elevators are currently in the process of being modded from Schindler Miconic 10 to Schindler Port. The mod is nearly complete, with the port panels operational on some floors. There are also some Miconic 10 panels on some floors, but they are a newer model than the originals and likely temporary while the port install is finished. So, What's new aside from Port technology? The older classic voice is gone, it has been replaced with the standard Schindler voice. Those are probably the major changes. A few more notes:
1. I do use handicapped mode because of my visual impairment.
2. I had to make a few edits, and some of them are a bit choppy, sorry.
3. Handicapped mode was somewhat glitchy for me. It would not work on one of the Port panels, and the elevator did not always activate the accessibility functions in the car. It seemed to work best in car E.
4. I had a bit of trouble getting up to floor 45, so we mainly go up to 44. Also, there was security on the first floor at the time of filming, so I went down to the third floor.
I am so glad I finally had the chance to see these amazing elevators for myself. However, I am a little sad that I missed seeing them with their original Miconic 10 system. Even so, this was definitely worth the visit. I was able to film three of the cars, A, E, and N, N being an internal car. This is a beautiful hotel with amazing elevators.
