The Hidden Life of Ward Bond Seth Adams Wagon Train TV, Sadly He was Only 57.
Ward Bond was an American film character actor with a career spanning more than three decades from the 1920s to the early 1960s. Born in 1903 in Benkelman, Nebraska, Bond initially pursued a career in football and studied at the University of Southern California on an athletic scholarship. However, a knee injury ended his football aspirations, and he turned to acting instead. Bond's deep, distinctive voice and imposing physical presence made him a natural fit for supporting roles in Hollywood westerns and dramas, and he appeared in more than 200 films during his career. He is perhaps best known for his collaborations with director John Ford, who cast Bond in many of his most famous films, including "The Searchers," "The Quiet Man," and "The Wings of Eagles." Bond was also a prolific character actor on television, and he had regular roles on the popular series "Wagon Train" and "Ward Bond Show." Bond passed away in 1960 at the age of 57.
