Spartacus’ wound is now healthy enough (free of infection – yay!) to proceed with next steps. Today we sedated him and began the process of closing his wound. We will wait about a week to give it time to heal up. The drain will come out in one week and the sutures will come out in two-ish weeks, assuming it holds. We are prepared for some of it to come off, especially the front middle, but hopefully it will be a small enough spot that will be able to heal on its own after that. He’ll be in an e-collar this week to prevent him from rubbing, bumping, or scratching it. Our secure website is accepting donations for Spartacus.
