VIVO X9s & X9s Plus | Specs & Features | 2017

Vivo announced a couple of new phones to add to their line up the Vivo x9s & x9s Plus which are an update to the earlier X9 devices. The vivo X9s is powered by an octacore Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 chipset with Adreno 510 GPU, aided by 4GB of RAM and non-expandable 64GB of storage. The x9s houses a 3320mah battery. It has a 5.5-inch Full HD 1080p AMOLED display, and runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat underneath vivo's Funtouch OS 3.0. The larger variant X9s Plus boasts a 5.85-inch 1080p AMOLED display. This model has a Snapdragon 653 under the hood, and has a bigger 4,015 mAh battery. Otherwise, it's identical. On both the phones, a fingerprint sensor is built into the Home button.

The big highlight of both the smartphones are their dual selfie camera setups. At times when Apple and oneplus chose to go with dual rear camera setup, Vivo thought of dual front-facing cameras for great selfies, the x9s and the x9s plus appears to be using a combination of 20 MP and 5 MP sensors to create a background-blurring, or bokeh, effect. There's even a front-facing flash so you don't miss out on night shots. The rear camera is a 16 MP f/2.0 unit with a LED flash of its own.

The X9s is priced at CNY 2,698 or $396, while the X9s Plus goes for CNY 2,998 or $440. Both the smartphones will come in Matte Black, Gold, and Rose Gold colour options. At present these devices are only being launched in China.

As for the company, Vivo if you haven't heard about it or or know very little. You'd be surprised to know that is is currently the world's 5th most popular smartphone company and it enjoys majority of the market share in India and China. Vivo is even sponsoring the next two FIFA world cups to make it self known worldwide.
