I would like to personally recommend Wushu Shaolin and Sifu Salvador for all of those who are interested in training Kung Fu and learning about the martial arts and overall training and health in general. I have been fortunate to have trained various styles of martial arts with various instructors from Kenpo to fight Choreography to Weaponry to Capoeira to Jiu Jitsu and more in various countries and I must say that Sifu Sal is one of the very best. He invited me to train in China with him and his other collegues and introduced me to many very talented Monks and students and his Sifu as well as other instructors which allowed me to pick up a huge amount of knowledge in a very short period of time. If it wasn't for Sifu Sal I would have never been able to go to China to train which has been a dream of mine for some time because its necessary to be there with someone who speaks fluent Chinese and has knowledge on where to train. My trip to China and my experience with Wushu Shaolin Kung Fu has been one of my favorite experiences and I plan on going back with them many more times in the future. Their school located in Hawthorne Los Angeles is also fully equipped with spring floor, mats, mirrors, weapons, uniforms, and most important of all, a great deal of knowledge. Fueled by instructors who obviously love what they are doing, dedicate their lives to the martial arts and spreading their knowledge to anyone who is willing to learn and put in the work. It is truly a beautiful thing when those gifted with talent choose to spread that talent to others, and that is exactly what Sifu Sal and Wushu Shaolin does and I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to be included in this family. Having had the opportunity to travel around the world to practice different martial arts, and meeting a great deal of excellent martial artists who have dedicated their lives to their craft wholeheartedly, I have no doubt that Sifu Sal is one of the most experienced, well versed, and talented martial artist in the US. His approach is unlike many who claim to know it all. His talents and knowledge of martial arts/history are scholarly. His approach to teaching is the traditional way, in which he builds a solid relationship with students and gives no false pretenses about expectations. Dedication to his students is the key agenda. He understands what he does and has a gift for explaining the reasoning behind movements and techniques. He is a true specialist at what he does and updates training to the standards of contemporary times by constantly traveling to China and studying. I've had the opportunity to train and learn from Sifu Sal over the years, and even travel to China with him. As a student and friend who knows him well, I have the opportunity and luxury of first hand critique; Sifu Sal is an all around great guy. He treats no one like less than family and I can attribute a lot of my success and knowledge of martial arts to him. Having said that, don't expect preferential treatment or breaks when it comes to training. He's tough; to the standards of Shaolin and no less. Good luck to those who venture on the Shaolin Journey.
