RAV Vast Drum/Steel Tongue Drum B Celtic Minor Review

When I first discovered the handpan, I knew it was an instrument I had to try. It had all the qualities that I wanted, plus it sounded otherworldly. I did further research and how that it was a really expensive instrument for a decent quality handpan. I went as far as considering making one myself because it was too expensive.

Then I discovered the RAV Vast, it was similar to the handpan is many ways but the sound of it was quite different. I had grown attached to the idea of how the handpan sounded.

Several months of looking on and off about the RAV. At first, I didn't consider it. It didn't sound as good as a handpan. But on and off I continued to look at videos of it. It was the robustness and beauty of the RAV that began to tip the scale.

There weren't many videos about the RAV when I was researching them and from what I saw, no one played the RAV in a style that I connected with. There were plenty of handpan players that gave me the confidence to know that I could play like them. This was the biggest hurdle that I had to over come until I finally considered getting the RAV and boy did I make the right choice.

I got the RAV during the pandemic to help past the time and it's been a black to finally learn how to play an instrument as someone who loves music. I look forward to sharing this instrument with others and playing it at open mics and busking with on popular streets in Santa Cruz and San Francisco.
