The enemy to creativity is self-doubt | a cozy art vlog🌷✨

Hey guys, welcome to a pretty chill art vlog where I start a new painting & talk about every artist's struggle with self-doubt🙃

Just like I say in the video, I was reading The Story of Art by Gombrich and early on he states there is no such thing as art, there are only artists. And the thing that makes an artist is this intuitive sense of harmony, a way to sense what feels "right" when creating art. There's rarely logic behind, it's like a 6th sense for creativity-- however, this sense for harmony, feeling when something isn't right, is also what makes some people more fussy, frustrated, and dissatisfied. It's also a big part of your self-doubt.

So, what to do about it? Well, first embrace it, it's this feeling that will eventually lead you to greatness, however if your skill doesn't match your vision, you may get frustrated and start to doubt yourself. But understand, the fact that you sense something isn't right, that you can tell if it's not "good enough", is the same instinct and talent that will guide you as your skill progresses too✨

Until then, I like to think of creativity a lot like a game. You don't start a game expecting to be the highest level and already have all rewards, otherwise, what's the point in playing it? No, the whole fun, or fulfillment, is in choosing your path and progressing, overcoming challenges, it's in amelioration💗

So try to embrace this, see each attempt as a step towards the next level, and use all the time in the world to experiment and fall in love with the process~
