Assassin's Creed Odyssey is a 2018 action RPG game, released for PS4, XB1, and Microsoft Windows pc's. The game takes place in ancient Greece, during the Persian war and Peloponnesian war. It is mostly historical fiction, with elements of science fiction and fantasy added to it.

Some of the late game boss fights see your character battle against various creatures from Greek mythology. The existence of these creatures in the game world is explained with scifi elements. They are actually mutants, created when a particularly powerful precursor artifact comes into contact with a human. These artifacts will corrupt people and transmute them into monstrous mutant beings. Some people with a higher concentration of precursor dna, for example human-isu hybrids like our player character, have the ability to resist the power of these artifacts and are immune to the mutation process. When a mythological creature is killed and the artifact removed from their body, their human form is restored. And leaving behind a badly disfigured human corpse.

The Minotaur resides in the "Labyrinth of Lost Souls" , below the ruins of Knossos palace in the island of Crete. In the myths, the labyrinth below Knossos was built by Daidalos, but it appears that in this game the labyrinth is also yet another construction made by the precursor race, due to the futuristic architecture in it. The Minotaur a very challenging and yet also very fun boss fight. One of the best boss encounters in the whole series in my opinion.
