The basement pink bedroom is done! It's feminine, mature, with a touch of upcycled old school charm. Layers of texture, shades of pink, offset by cream, a hint of vintage and cozy make you forget that this bedroom is in a basement.

For five weeks, we've been dropping videos about this project. It all starts by painting the room pink. My go-to is something a bit more neutral, so this was a step out of my comfort zone. But it was fun to design a space completely different to what I normally would. Other than the ceiling, everything in this room gets a makeover - even the carpets got cleaned!

It was important to keep the budget as low as possible. That was a must, followed by it must be pink. Because of the budget, I tried to reuse and upcycle as much as possible. This meant furniture flips, repurposing old art, pulling decor out storage, thrifting and Marketplace hauls. Being limited by a budget isn't a bad thing - it draws out all the creativity!

I left the styling simple and simple change. As the space is being lived in, artwork can be changed, decor can be swapped out even furniture can be rearranged or replaced. But establishing a palette and getting the room ready to be lived in is done, and the living can begin.
