After a few tries on the forge I was already fed up with the pedaling of the blower and so decided to add an electric blower and see the difference. I got a 12V blower from a friend, removed the turbine blower used with the pedal and screwed the blower in place. Not a perfect fit, but good enough! I then used a car battery charger to test the blower and it all worked fine. Beforehand I was a little worried that the blower would get hot from the waste heat of the furnace but it did not!

I also placed the furnace in a good spot and leveled it. The extended workbench-area of the furnace was rattling a bit so I fixated it and tack welded the plates to the frame which made it much better. Forging with the electric blower was way more fun!
