This blender is incredible. It is like having a power tool in the kitchen. I researched for a while between this and Vitamix. Found that some people find black specs coming off their vitamix into their food. That paired with the better price and great reviews led me to the Blendtec. It will literally blend anything. You do not need to stop and tamper the food down in it, then start again. Once it is going, it is going. It is loud, but with this motor it would have to be. It actually is so powerful it jumps around on the counter a little bit. Having the preset buttons makes this fool proof. The first thing I did was make apple-carrot juice in it and it worked great. Use it daily for smoothies. Very glad I decided on this instead of the competition.
