New economic numbers are turning heads in Washington -- and proving many so-called experts got it wrong again.
GDP growth is surging, retirement accounts are rebounding, and Americans are starting to feel real financial relief.

The GDP came in at 4.3%, while nearly 90% of professional economists underestimated President Donald Trump and his administration.
“First of all, we really should celebrate these really good numbers,” Steve Moore, who is President Donald Trump’s former White House economic advisor, said during an interview with The National News Desk’s Taylor Murray on Wednesday. “They really are fantastic and we saw two really good numbers come out last week, Taylor. One was the blockbuster GDP report that you just mentioned, which is the fastest growth we’ve seen in about four or five years.”
Moore added that inflation is ticking down. He said while it’s still too high, it’s a good sign that it’s decreasing.

Moore said the big question is why so many economists were way off when it comes to Trump.
“This happened in his first term, as well,” Moore said. “I don’t really know. I think some of it might be some ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome.’ People thought that the tariffs -- in fact, I myself thought the tariffs would have a more negative effect on the economy, but that fact is that you’ve had the tax cut, you’ve had 100 deregulations for every new regulation under Trump. You’ve had a big reduction in oil prices, which has really been a big plus for the economy. So, the oil price was about $80 and now it’s down to about $50 a barrel and that means people are now paying -- in some parts of the country -- less than $2.50 a gallon for gas.”
