Oregon Coast Albacore Fishing "Blood Brothers" (July, 18th 2024)

Our first tuna rip of the year, and the first trip having our brother Isaiah out with us. The south wind prediction was off per usual, so we got thrown around a bit, but we left them biting with 23 on deck, and a handful lost to the depths.

We headed Northwest to where we had scouted, but the water temp was 56 / 57 degrees. Now we know there were probably fish holding in that temp, but we continued well past the 125 line only to see the temp drop after a quick rise to 59 degrees. We went back to that spot and dropped lines only to hook up before all lines were out. It was consistent from there. We had a blast in not so ideal conditions. Lots of water drops and foggy lenses, but hey, it's the pacific ocean.
