LEGENDS: THE SERIES PREVIEW - THE LEGEND OF PAT MUSI

The tough guy from New Jersey, brash and bold; those are just a couple of ways to describe doorslammer racing icon and engine-building front-runner Pat Musi.

Musi, the proclaimed eight-time Pro Street champion from Carteret, NJ, came up through the ranks in drag racing, working his way from Modified Eliminator to Pro Stock. When Pro Stock became a money pit, Musi set his sights on the fastest street car movement in the Pro Street division. When he's accomplished all he could accomplish there, he moved over into Pro Modified, where he won a couple of national events.

One thing Musi learned in his days in Pro Stock was how to turn his drag racing into a successful business venture by developing and winning with electronic fuel injection coupled with nitrous oxide.

Musi has since handed over his driving seat to daughter Lizzy, but he still remains involved in the sport as her crew chief while she competes in the No Prep Kings Series.

This brief preview provides some insight into the man who brings his own kind of special flavor to drag racing.
