The Derby Deluxe (A non-alcoholic spin on the Mint Julep)!

Syrups are the most underrated element of a mocktail. They are simple, yet so diverse and can create a delicious beverage. Today we make 4 EASY simple syrups and a mocktail that is one of a kind! Plus video evidence that making mocktails is a dangerous job!

THE RECIPE
THE DERBY DELUXE
6-8 mint leaves
1.5 oz of Demerara syrup
1.5 oz of Monday Whisky

THE BUILD
- Muddle the mint leaves and Demerara syrup
- Add Whisky
- Crush ice (until frustration is freed) and add add to julep cup until 3/4 of the way full
- Add whisky, Demerara and mint leaves. Stir to combine.
- Add ice until above the rim of the julep cup.
- Garnish with mint and a straw!
- Try not to guzzle it down too quickly ;)
