A former Louisiana mayor has resigned and is now on trial after being charged in connection with allegations.

According to Louisiana State Police, Misty Roberts (Clanton), former mayor of DeRidder, was arrested found guilty to contributing to the delinquency of juveniles following an investigation into an alleged incident at a July 2024 pool party.

Court testimony has included:
• Statements from two juveniles
• Text messages presented by prosecutors
• Testimony from family members and friends
• Evidence related to the timeline of events

Roberts has maintained her innocence through her attorney and is entitled to the presumption of innocence unless proven guilty in court.
