This story was all set on a farm and it involved kids sneaking around and stealing a cake. In the Sparticle Mystery all the adults disappeared one day and the kids are trying to find out why - this is their quest.

This is one of the main themes used throughout all three series of the Sparticles Mystery. It was composed initially for acoustic guitar played by the very talented Mark Johns. The acoustic guitar strumming gives the track a strong feeling that something big is about to happen. I introduced orchestral elements to give the piece a sense of scale and to add tension and a feeling of jeopardy.

The tracks keeps building and building with the addition of percussion and various synth elements. It was a fun track to score and became popular with the editors in series 2 and 3, as it could be used under so many different scenes.

Written by Alison Hume, The Sparticle Mystery was first shown on CBBC then BBC1 in 2011, and three seasons of the show were made.
