The 8750 TEU Hapag-Lloyd container vessel COLOMBO EXPRESS sailing under the A Murray MacKay Bridge as it enters the Port of Halifax on maiden call, inbound from Cagliari, Italy.

The vessel is guided to the Fairview Cove Container Terminal by the tugs Atlantic Larch and Atlantic Oak.

At 8750 TEU capacity, the COLOMBO EXPRESS and sister vessel BUDAPEST EXPRESS are now the largest container vessels to visit the Port of Halifax.

The COLOMBO EXPRESS was involved in a collision with the container vessel MAERSK TANJONG in the Suez Canal back in September 2014, but has since been repaired.

Hapag-Lloyd is part of the G6 alliance with partners NYK Line, OOCL, APL, Hyundai, and Mitsu OSK Lines.
