There is currently a lot of fear in the stock market in the event of a Biden presidency. Many investors are saying they will sell everything if Biden wins, due to factors that may not be ideal for stocks or the economy.

First of all, taking the long term approach, it doesn't matter if Democrats or Republicans win the presidency, stocks tend to go higher in the long run.

Biden has some policies that may make it less attractive to own stocks. First, he is planning on increasing the long term capital gains rate, and increasing the corporate tax rate to 28%. This would decrease corporate earnings, which should in theory then reprice to reflect those lower earnings.

However, Biden does have one thing going for him. Biden and the democrats want to pass massive amounts of stimulus. If there's anything the stock market needs right now it is more stimulus, and the more that we see the more likely it is that the stock market rally will continue.

So what do I think will happen? I think for the first few months the stock market will continue to rally regardless of who wins the election. However, we may get to a point where investors realize they don't want to pay higher taxes OR Biden doesn't pass as much stimulus as is expected by the markets. In that event, we could see a potential stock market crash.

The US Presidential election is just around the corner. But if Joe Biden were to defeat Donald Trump, will we see the stock market crash? Trump if very focused on keeping tax rates low, whereas Biden will raise taxes but has a stronger economic plan. How will it all play out?
The outcome of the 2020 election between Joe Biden and Donald Trump will likely have a major impact on the equity market. Although the economy has historically performed better under a Democratic president, that doesn’t always necessarily reflect on market performance. However, which party controls the White House can still be an important element for those looking to earn big in the market. So how does the U.S. election impact the stock market and how should investors prepare?
The US Presidential Elections are coming in 10 days. How will the outcome affect the stock market in the short term and the long term. Which stocks and industries will outperform under a Biden administration and which stocks will do well if Trump wins re-election.
