Key Features of the New Optometry Curriculum -
Course Duration: The Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Optometry is now a 5-year program, comprising 4 years of academic study followed by a 1-year mandatory clinical internship. This structure is designed to provide comprehensive theoretical knowledge and practical experience.

Curriculum Structure: The revised curriculum encompasses a wide range of subjects, including ocular anatomy, visual optics, contact lens fitting, binocular vision, low vision rehabilitation, and public health optometry. The curriculum also emphasizes hands-on clinical training to prepare students for real-world scenarios.

Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must have completed 10+2 education with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Mathematics. Additionally, qualifying the NEET (UG) exam is now a mandatory requirement for admission into the B.Sc Optometry program.
