In his farewell address on 26 November 2025 at JSHQ, the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza NI, NI(M) said:

Ladies and Gentlemen, The world around us is transforming at a rate unimaginable with profound impact on our internal and external challenges ranging from perpetual hybrid conflicts to all out war for which our Armed Forces must be prepared with even more cohesion, jointness and unity of purpose.

I see tri-services synergy, jointness and coordination as a compulsion rather than a choice with much needed organisational reform to meet these futuristic challenges. I foresee the requirement of a fully enabled and duly capacitated tri-services set up as an operational necessity for synergistic tri-services employment within the realm of our military strategy to meet the futuristic challenges of the conflict. I extend my best wishes and prayers for all the three services and in particular the tri-services Headquarter whatever form and demeanour it takes for fulfilling the renewed responsibilities with dedication and commitment.
