发起菩提心,是对自我的巨大挑战。但只有将此运用起来,所有问题皆可迎刃而解,因为菩提心是摧毁我法二执的最佳利器。
Generating Bodhicitta is a huge challenge for one's ego. However, only by applying it can we easily resolve all problems, because Bodhicitta is the best weapon to eradicate the attachments to "self in person" and "self in phenomena".
我们再来详细讲这本书,有些地方师父要摘出来讲一讲。
We will delve into this book in more detail, and I will select some parts to expound.

【凡夫心】
The Samsaric Mind
我们又回到前面——凡夫心。
Let's first continue to discuss the samsaric mind mentioned before.
世俗人都是凡夫心为基础,产生种种的想法和行为,形成凡夫的品质,凡夫心的力量强弱,取决于我们对它的培养。习惯贪的人时刻都在张扬自己的贪心,习惯嗔恨的人时刻都在张扬自己的嗔心。
Ordinary beings, based on the samsaric mind, generate various thoughts and actions, thus forming the characteristics of an ordinary being. The degree of the samsaric mind depends on how we nurture it. Those accustomed to greed constantly indulge their greed, and those accustomed to anger constantly indulge their anger.
这些现象我们很容易在生活中观察到,如果不进行反省和制止,贪心和嗔心随时都会寻找目标并采取行动,久而久之,嗔心和贪心就变得无比强大。
We can easily observe these phenomena in daily life. If we don't reflect on and restrain them, greed and anger will constantly seek targets and take action. Over time, they will become immense.

学佛者发心,存在两种误区。
Among Buddhist practitioners, there are two misconceptions about generating aspirations.

【发心过程中误入凡夫心】
Regressing to samsaric minds after generating aspirations
开始发心是有一点,也是为了追求解脱或成就佛道。但是这种发心没持续多久就变了。其实我们谁也不可能保证自己刚开始学佛的发心是纯正的,后来应该是越来越纯正。
Initially, they do have some aspirations, seeking liberation or Buddhahood. However, their aspirations change soon. In fact, none of us can guarantee that our initial aspirations to learn Buddhism are pure. Later on, our aspirations should become increasingly pure.
凡夫贪嗔痴的力量比我们想象的要强大得多。
The greed, anger, and ignorance of ordinary beings are much more powerful than we imagine.

我们在修行上要找到核心和要领,就会发现所有的大乘经论是在不同层面为我们提供帮助。唯识关于心理分析及对心灵运作等规律的描述,对我们认识如何发心帮助很大。
If we find the core and essence of spiritual practice, we will realize that all Mahayana sutras and treatises are guiding us, though from different perspectives. The Yogacara teachings, such as the analysis of the mind and the descriptions of how the mind operates, can greatly help us understand how to generate aspirations.
佛法的究竟处是殊途同归,契入和修证的方法虽然不同,但归根结底,归结到根本上是相通的。
The ultimate goal of the Buddha's teachings is the same, though the paths may vary. Although the methods of practice and realization are different, they are essentially interconnected.
今天又更详细地讲了一下发心的误区,你们要非常小心。
