On this channel, we love 1960s Ferraris, and when we had the opportunity to film this stunning 1961 250 GT SWB, chassis 3073GT, at the Paul Ricard circuit in France, it was a true pleasure. We owe thanks to the kindness of Marcus Lindkvist, who allowed us to capture a fantastic onboard video behind the wheel of this Maranello-made prancing horse. Over the years, the car competed in "The Greatest Trophy" races organised by Peter Auto and was a constant presence on European tracks, competing in dozens of events. These included several editions of the Coppa Intereuropa at Monza, the Oldtimer GP at the Nürburgring, and numerous races in the Ferrari Maserati Historic Challenge and the Nastro Rosso trophies. The Ferrari 250 GT SWB (Short Wheelbase/Passo Corto) were produced between 1959 and 1962 and built in Italy in collaboration between two main factories. Carrozzeria Scaglietti of Modena handled the physical production of the aluminium or steel bodies, while the design, production of the tubular chassis, and final assembly of the mechanicals (Colombo V12 engine) took place at Ferrari's Maranello plant. The car's stunning design bears the signature of Pininfarina. Under the longitudinally mounted front hood is the 3.0-litre 60° V12 engine (Type 168 or later evolutions, Type 168B/61). In the track-tuned versions, it delivers approximately 280-300 hp at 7,000-7,500 rpm, exceeding the 240 hp of the road version. The car features a manual transmission with 4 speeds + reverse. With a dry weight of less than 1,000 kg, the cars could already exceed 280 km/h at the time and, if we look at the racing career of the 250 GT SWB models, thanks to their extreme competitiveness, they achieved victory in three editions of the Tour de France (1960-1962), the Tourist Trophy and in the GT class at Le Mans. Ferrari built one of the most dominant GT racing models of its era.

Dobbiamo ringraziare la gentilezza di Marcus Lindkvist, che al volante di questo cavallino made in Maranello ci ha permesso di catturare un fantastico video onboard. L'auto, negli anni, ha preso parte alle gare della categoria "The Greatest Trophy" organizzate da Peter Auto ed è stata una presenza costante sulle piste europee, partecipando a decine e decine di eventi. Tra questi, diverse edizioni della Coppa Intereuropa a Monza, l'Oldtimer GP al Nürburgring e un'enorme quantità di gare nei trofei Ferrari Maserati Historic Challenge e Nastro Rosso. Le Ferrari 250 GT SWB (Short Wheelbase/Passo Corto) sono state prodotte tra il 1959 e il 1962 e costruite in Italia in collaborazione tra due sedi principali. La Carrozzeria Scaglietti di Modena si occupava della produzione fisica dei corpi vettura in alluminio o in acciaio, mentre la progettazione, la produzione del telaio tubolare e l'assemblaggio finale della meccanica (motore V12 Colombo) avvenivano nello stabilimento Ferrari di Maranello. Il favoloso design della vettura porta la firma di Pininfarina. Sotto il cofano anteriore, montato longitudinalmente, troviamo il motore V12 a 60° (Tipo 168 o evoluzioni successive, tipo 168B/61) da 3,0 litri di cilindrata che, nelle versioni preparate per la pista, eroga circa 280-300 CV a 7.000-7.500 giri/min, superiore ai 240 CV della versione stradale. Cambio manuale a 4 marce + retromarcia. Con un peso a secco inferiore a 1.000 kg, la vetture già all'epoca permetteva di superare i 280 km/h e, se guardiamo alla carriera agonistica dei modelli 250 GT SWB, grazie all'estrema competitività, ottennero la vittoria a tre edizioni del Tour de France (1960-1962), al Tourist Trophy e nella classe GT a Le Mans. Ferrari costruì un modello di auto da corsa GT tra le più dominanti della sua epoca. Un grande grazie all'amico e Youtuber ‪@19Bozzy92‬ con cui ho collaborato alla realizzazione del materiale video.
