The Taipei International Travel Fair kicked off today. Five-star hotels offered discount vouchers for their buffets, which were sold out in ten minutes. The travel section also did brisk business boosted by the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday and government subsidies for domestic travel as part of a recent stimulus package. The opening of the travel fair was lively, as actors dressed up as giant cartoon characters. Even though it was a working day, the event still attracted enormous crowds, who came to snap up goodies.
