The Path to Creativity Is Not Predictable | How To Be a Successful Black Artist!

When do you know you are an artist? As a child? In high school or college? Or, after a career? Artist and community leader, Deonna Craig, has always been creative, but she didn't realize she was an artist until later. Deonna went from being a producer on the Jerry Springer Show, to working as an insurance fraud investigator until one day she was exposed to painting, and her world completely changed!

Deonna is now taking her creativity and experience as an industry leader and quite literally changing the world for the better. Deonna is now a full-time artist, artist-in-residence at the world's largest‪@childrensmuseum‬ , and the president of the 18 Art Collective in Indianapolis, Indiana. The 18 Art Collective is a group of incredibly talented black artists supporting other artists and the community around them.

Deonna's work is a blend of her passion for space and planets, ancient hieroglyphics, and dream interpretations. While she considers herself a bit of "science nerd," her work is incredible. Deonna uses bold colors, texture and pattern to create powerful works of art.
