Orpheus had the pleasure of participating at the annual Hellenic Parade in Chicago’s Greek Town for the 35th consecutive year. Orpheus was part of the float sponsored by Greek Town SSA#16. This year, Orpheus was assigned a special role, to finish this year’s parade on a high note by dancing away with the public at the closing of the event. Orpheus members, waving large and small Greek flags approached the tent where all the officials were stationed and at that moment the dance music echoed from the speakers. The public joined the large dance line by the Orpheus contingency and at that moment His Eminence Metropolitan Nathanael stepped down from the VIP stage and lead the dance line demonstrating remarkable ability!
This year’s parade was a memorable experience and many thanks to Enosis, the organizing committee and its president Kostas Chaniotakis for their efforts.
Orpheus is proud to contribute in promoting Hellenism and assisting the community in preserving its cultural heritage and presence.
