Great is the desolation of you shores
Still I long for it
How the lamentation of a wild duck
Sounds at night among the bed of reeds

Someone lonely and lost
Wailing with cold
Wandering among the reeds
Unable to find its mother

I’ve watched your gray swells
With tears
My youth weeped for it’s first sorrows
At your beach

Your image is printed deep into my soul
And I long for it
For many nights I have listened to
The wild ducks there.
