Machu Picchu is an ancient city located in the South American country of Peru. It was built in the 15th century by the Incan emperor Pachacuti. This city is situated in the Andes Mountains at an altitude of approximately 7,970 feet above sea level. It was constructed at such a height to protect it from external invasions.🫠🫠🫠

In the 16th century, when Spanish invaders took over the Inca Empire, Machu Picchu was abandoned. It is believed that the population perished due to a plague, and over time, the city was hidden within the dense jungle, unknown to the world. However, in 1911, an American scientist, Hiram Bingham, rediscovered it and brought it back to global attention. In 2007, Machu Picchu was recognized as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.😄😄😄
