Hulkoff - Uldin (English Lyrics)

Uldin was the first recorded king of the Huns, ruling the Hunnic empire in eastern Europe around the turn of the 5th century. Based out of Dacia, in the year 406 the Roman general Stilicho requested his help to defeat a Gothic invasion of Italy, to which he provided some Hunnic cavalry which performed exceptionally well, encircling a large part of the Gothic host. They were called in again in 409 for the same purpose but did not reach the Romans before the Goths reached Rome. This time, Uldin demanded a Roman hostage to ensure the safety of his troops, the Romans sent a young boy named Aetius, who would grow up amongst the Huns and on his return to Rome, teach them all he'd learned about them and would go on to defeat Uldin's descendant Atilla when he himself tried to conquer Rome.
