Описание к видео How To Make Vegan Avocado Flatbread | Blankita Lifestyles (episode 1)

This is a fun and healthy way to make flatbread at home. In the wake of the COVID-19 we are all bound at home and I'm taking this opportunity to do things that I have been putting off for a while. I hope you enjoy this recipe and share the variations you do.

Flatbread Ingredients:

1/2 cup of mashed avocado
2 cloves of garlic
2 tbsp of lemon juice
1/2 cup of cilantro or parsley
2 cups of all-purpose flour or flour of your choice
1 tsp of salt
1/4 cup of Olive oil to brush bread at the end

Filling ingredients:
1 can of organic black beans
2 cloves minced garlic
1/2 cup of diced onions
1 tsp (or to taste) Curry powder
1/8 tsp (or to taste) Chili powder
Salt & black pepper to taste
1/2 lemon
1 cup organic quinoa season to taste (prepare it in the rice cooker)
Garnish with watercress

Filling preparation:
Dice onions and minced garlic. Heat pan to medium heat add a bit of oil, then throw the onions in and then the garlic. Make sure you rinse your beans properly if you're using canned beans. Add them into the mix once you throw in the spices add some water so it doesn't become too dry. Stir it around and let it simmer for a bit, final touch just add the juice of the 1/2 a lemon. Cover and set aside.

*Fresh beans are optimal for nutritional purposes. however, sometimes we don't have all the time. So this is a quick and nutritious meal.


Flatbread Preparation:
In a large mixing bowl add mashed avocados, grated garlic, lemon juice, and chopped cilantro. Mix all ingredients together.

Add 1/3 of the flour at the time while mixing well, add salt. Knead the dough for about 3 minutes until it forms like a ball. Cover and set aside for at least 15 mins.

Once waiting time is over, cut the dough in half. Put that half aside and cover it so it doesn't dry.

Dust your working station, as you see in the video I'm using a silicone mat, I love this mat because it grips the countertop. I purchased mine at Farinex. Once you have your station ready dust your roller lightly and start flattening your portion of dough. Try to make them as round as possible.

Heat up a frying pan with no oil over medium heat, once the pan is hot add your flatbread 1 min each side. You will see your bread rise, that's totally normal. Once it's ready to make sure you have your 1/4 of olive oil and brush ready, brush it as soon as it's ready.

Once your ready to eat, lay a flatbread on a plate and add the filling in the middle of the bread and top it over with some quinoa and watercress. Add a toothpick to lock into place. Serve with a side salad and Buen provecho.
