In ballet, pointe shoes are more than equipment—they are the "touch of magic" that creates the illusion of lightness and extends the beautiful lines of the art form. But at roughly $200 a pair, the cost remains a significant barrier for many.
 
We sat down with students from Joburg Ballet to discuss what inclusive access means to them. For many, seeing a shoe in their own shade is about more than aesthetics; it would mean feeling acknowledged, valued, and finally seen as a person of color in a dance form where they truly belong.
 
Our global Pointe Shoe Fund exists to bridge this gap in both the U.S. and South Africa. By removing the financial burden and providing inclusive shoes that match their skin tones, we are ensuring these dancers no longer have to choose between their dream and their identity.
