Hi, everyone, Aiden here at etrailer. And today, we're gonna be taking a look at the K Source Universal Towing Mirrors, and we're gonna see how they fit on our 2019 Ford F-150. You'll probably already know why you need a towing mirror for your F-150, and it's to give you a wider field of view. As I step over to the side, you'll see me leave the factory mirror and appear in the towing mirror. So this one's gonna be really nice because it's got a really large surface. And on our mirrors, we've already got a small bit in the corner that gives you that wider field of view on the factory mirror.

But having a larger surface area just makes things easier to see, and it's gonna make you more confident when switching lanes on the highway or making turns. So it's gonna be a flat mirror surface so it doesn't distort the image you're seeing in it as much, which can be really helpful for determining distance. And with our F-150 factory mirrors being a bit taller, we've also got this in the upright position, but you can totally spin this around 360 degrees. It's pretty stiff on that ball joint there, but you don't want it to shift around accidentally, so that's good. This will give you a bit wider field of view, and of course you can adjust the angle quite a bit too to match up to whatever setting you need for your driving position.

And how this attaches is through these two rubber straps. They're gonna stretch up and around our factory mirror and clip into the top of this cleat, which grabs onto the lip of our factory mirror. Overall, we're actually getting a pretty good fit here, but right here you're seeing the downside of universal towing mirrors, and it's just that there can be some rattling, some side-to-side movement, especially when you're driving at highway speeds hitting bumpy roads. And when trying to see a clearer image in your mirror, vibration is gonna be your enemy. So if you want something that's gonna be a really solid fit, I'd recommend going the custom-fit route, just because it's going to sit a lot nicer on that factory mirror and reduce vibration overall.

But I do think this is working out pretty well and it's getting a strong hold better than I've seen on some other universal-style, anyway. These are gonna be quite a bit wider, so say you pull into a tight parking spot, if you wanna fold your factory mirrors in so they're not sticking out as much, you can do that. These mirrors aren't gonna interfere with your window, or your door, or anything like that either. As for that install, I know I mentioned it's pretty straightforward. Here, you can see the teeth that'll wrap around the lip of our factory mirror.

And these arms adjust, so we're gonna need them pretty wide for our F-150 mirror. Just line it up, get those teeth set in place where they fit the best, and take those straps and just stretch them around the mirror housing until they clip in at the top right here. Try to keep my hand out of the way as best I can, but if you get them both evenly done, should sit pretty snug like that. And you can always pull these straps tighter if you want a more snug fit. And since these do come to kit of two, just repeat that process on the other side, and you'll be ready to hit the road.
