Yu Garden is the location of the famous Huxinting Tea House. It's in a small lake with a zig-zag bridge. What is less obvious until you get there is that it's surrounded on all sides by a huge garish bazaar. While we were there, the tea house was being renovated so not a lot of it was visible, but the bazaar was interesting and the walk back to the Bund was very interesting - watch the later part of the video to get the creeps as we walk through a huge neighbourhood that has been emptied of people ready for demolition. Sad that this is the vibrant heart of the old Walled City - the main Chinese area during the Foreign Powers involvement with Shanghai. Not sure why the authorities want to erase it all as it would have had real character and historical importance. I guess it's part of the old China that they want to see the back of.
