1. Lake Victoria is Africa's largest Lake by area, the World's largest tropical lake and the world's second largest freshwater lake by surface area, after Lake Superior in Northern America. It has a surface area of approximately 59, 947 square kilometers (km2)
2. The lake's area is divided among three countries namely Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya, with Tanzania occupying 49% (33, 700 km2), Uganda 45% (31, 000km2, and Kenya 6% (4100km2). Ahaaaaah! Did you catch that!!!

It starts in Burundi, flows north along the Rwanda-Tanzania border, then east along the Tanzania-Uganda border, emptying into Lake Victoria.
*Let me also just mention that the only outflow from lake Victoria is the Nile river which exits the lake near Jinja, Uganda. This makes Lake Victoria the biggest source of Nile river.
