The MCG is in the process of replacing the ageing technology with 950 brand new LED lights. The new lights are capable of being dimmed, flashed and can create stunning visual light sequences.

Extra sharper light will enhance broadcast quality at night, particularly for slo-motion angles.

The new lights are 50% more energy efficient than their predecessors.

During work four of the six light towers will remain in operation at all time.

Work is scheduled to be completed by February 2020 in time for the ICC T20 Womens World Cup.
