What Is A 'Living Will' & Supreme Court's New Order On Passive Euthanasia Procedure?

The Supreme Court of India has recently simplified the procedure for passive euthanasia in the country by simplifying the existing guidelines for ‘living wills’, as laid down in its 2018 landmark judgment in the case titled Common Cause vs. Union of India & Anr, which had recognised the right to die with dignity as a facet of the right to live with dignity under Article 21 of the Constitution, and had, accordingly, upheld the legal validity of passive euthanasia.
