We are back from the 2014 Casita Blue Bonnet Rally. Here are some videos of TWO DIFFERENT 2014 Casita travel trailers with the Coleman Mach 8 air conditioner. The noise level is excessively LOUD. I recorded them with my iPhone and spoke in a normal conversational voice. In one video, we were at least 24 feet away from the loud AC and it still drowned out our voices.

Another owner of a (third) 2014 Casita refused to run his AC (even with temperatures in the upper 80's) because he didn't want "to disturb the neighbors" because of the noise. He left early (on Friday) saying that he was headed for cooler temperatures.

In the "LOUD MACH 8 AC" video I was narrating the sound level and the AC was so loud that my voiceover cannot be heard with the microphone only 6-8" away. You can hear us trying to talk in the background. While we were talking with the campers in the neighboring sight, the Casita AC (compressor) kicked on and the loud noise actually startled my wife who had her back to that Casita campsite. The non-Casita campers next door complained about the noise, "We can't even hear ourselves talk when that thing comes on." They also commented on the Casita decals and the 1-800 #, "Why would Casita put there name all over a trailer and then have the AC make that horrible racket? That's bad advertising for Casita. Pretty stupid marketing."

The second 2014 Casita trailer that I taped was "MACH 8 TOO LOUD". You can hear the loud Mach 8 AC. This video was made earlier in the day before "LOUD MACH 8 AC". This is a DIFFERENT trailer in a different area of the park. I used the same iPhone and the same parameters when recording both.

"MACH 8 DISTANCE" is a 9 second video showing the "sitting area" outside under the awning and the excessive noise level there. I am speaking in my loud "outside" voice, as my wife calls it, in order to be heard above the din of the noisy Coleman Mach 8 air conditioner.

The "COLEMAN LOUD" video is a short 3 second video to demonstrate the noise level at the nearest camping neighbor (notice their sign in their rear window where they bunk). This video lets you hear what they hear in their bedroom at night.

I am sharing these with Casita in the hopes that they will correct this excessive noise level and repair the damage to their reputation.

I have also been asked to share these on youtube.com in an effort to get Airxcel/Coleman to recall/replace/repair these units.

I am also surprised to find some people who assert that this noise level is "acceptable" and "reasonable".

I refuse to believe that any reputable, ethical person in the RV industry would endorse, much less offer to sell, this absurdly loud Coleman Mach 8 air conditioner.

Visualize yourself at a peaceful quiet campsite, maybe in the evening or early morning, the birds are singing, squirrels are playing, deer are feeding. And then: RAAAARGGGGHHHH! Your neighbor's Casita Coleman Mach 8 AC starts up.
