Farangis Nurulla-Khoja composed Swan's last dance with the English translation in mind, the viola reacting to and embracing the vowels, consonants and the inflection of the English language. However, the strong metaphors and vivid imagery of the poem are also central to the music. This is the reason that an exception was made on this particular occasion, giving this performance in the audience's native language, German.
