"Breaking the Law" was released in 1980 on Judas Priest's seminal album, British Steel. The song became an instant classic, not just for its powerful and straightforward heavy metal sound, but also for its rebellious spirit that resonated with a generation. Written by Rob Halford, K.K. Downing, and Glenn Tipton, the track is a commentary on the economic struggles and social unrest in Britain during that era.

Did you know the "police siren" sound effect in the original recording was actually created by guitarist K.K. Downing using the tremolo arm on his Stratocaster? And the sound of breaking glass? That was the band smashing milk bottles delivered to the studio! It's that kind of raw, creative energy that has cemented Judas Priest as one of the most influential heavy metal bands of all time.
