BMW E46 Pulley Replacement DIY

Описание к видео BMW E46 Pulley Replacement DIY

Be very careful if you are going to buy pulleys from eBay. When you see a kit that has 1 tensioner assembly and 2 other pulleys, that is meant for cars that have the hydraulic tensioners. Find out what you have before you buy parts.

If you have the mechanical tensioners like I have, it's best to buy them individually.

As I mentioned in the video, if you don't want to buy the entire tensioner assemblies and just want to replace the pulleys, you need two of these:

However, I haven't bought that pulley and do not know if it will make noise or not. I suspect probably not, but I am just warning you now that you are taking a chance.

If taking a chance isn't your cup of tea, I understand, so here are the part numbers you need to look for depending on what type of tensioner setup you've got. Remember to buy INA brand.

For the manual tensioner, you need part numbers:

11287841228 deflection pulley
11281427252 mechanical tensioner (alternator/water pump)

If you have the hydraulic tensioner, you only need:

11287841228 deflection pulley
11281748131 adjusting pulley

Because you are able to change just the pulley and do not have to change the hydraulic tensioner itself.

The A/C tensioner is the same part no matter what:

11281433571

If you are interested in buying these parts online from somewhere other than eBay, I suggest http://www.bmaparts.net which is a local parts warehouse near where I live that seems to ship nationally. They have reasonable prices.
