Sead Kolasinac reveals how Arsenal players reacted to his mistake against Manchester United. Sead Kolasinac claims the reaction of his Arsenal team-mates to his costly error against Manchester United proves just how ‘tight-knit’ Unai Emery’s squad has become.

Kolasinac bundled the ball into the path of Jesse Lingard, immediately after Marcos Rojo’s own goal, and the England forward made no mistake from close-range to rescue a point for the Red Devils.

Emery revealed that Kolasinac was disconsolate in the dressing room after the final whistle, but the Spaniard insisted he was not ‘frustrated’ after an otherwise impressive performance from the defender.

Kolasinac, who has nailed down the left-back spot in Nacho Monreal’s absence, lifted the lid on how Arsenal players consoled him after the draw.

‘The manager told me in no uncertain terms not to get too down about it, and that did help me. Everyone in the team too, it wasn’t just the coaching staff.

‘All the players came over and they consoled me and told me not to get too down about it, and it gives you belief and confidence.

‘You notice then we’re a tight-knit team and I think it’s a positive.’

Emery urged Kolasinac the learn from his mistake which cost Arsenal at Old Trafford.

‘I am not frustrated,’ he insisted.

‘At the end Kolasinac had his head looking down and I said to Sead you had a very good match and you gave us a lot of good circumstances where we could have scored with your actions – these things can happen in defence.

‘These things can happen and above all be positive and learn with this action.’
