The course comprises theory, experiential practice of energy modalities in pairs and trios, small and large group discussion and monthly supervision groups.

At Certificate level: attending all the skills-based training seminars, online supervision groups and home study (90 units).

At Diploma level: attending all the skills-based training seminars, online supervision groups, home study and submission of a 5000-word dissertation (120 units).

After the success of the first Diploma in Practising Energy Psychotherapy (2020) we have decided to repeat this cutting-edge programme. The course provides in-depth online and in-person clinical training, inviting an open approach to integrating the myriad of contemporary energy psychologies into psychotherapy.

Working with the body alongside relational talking therapy is recognised as key when working with trauma and increasing understanding of the nervous system and advances in neurobiology support this.

The gentle methods of Energy Psychotherapy facilitate healing by releasing the stress of emotional and energetic residues of trauma at a deep bodily level. The work invites a collaborative approach which facilitates the client’s own healing process using empowering self-applied energy methods to help the client manage triggering, emotional self-regulation and calming of the nervous system. Energy psychotherapy works deeply, helping to address a wide range of conditions including P.T.S.D., patterns of transgenerational, attachment, in-utero, preverbal, developmental and complex trauma. The work ‘reprogrammes’ the neural pathways in life-affirming ways and preliminary evidence for clinical effectiveness treating PTSD with EFT, including with US war veterans, has shown good outcomes. EFT is mentioned in the updated NICE guidance on PTSD.

Practising Energy Psychotherapy offers a generic foundation in the principles of working with the body’s subtle energy systems, with incremental learning throughout the year. A clinical skills-based training, it provides a platform from which course participants can build as they learn, with plenty of opportunities for clinical practice and revision as participants learn experientially in pairs and trios by working on personal issues and triggers using energy psychotherapy methods. Through monthly small supervision groups (10 throughout the year), course participants present brief case presentations for reflection and discussion which aids learning and integration.
