STORYLINE:
A demonstration was held by Awami (People) National Party supporters in Bajur on Wednesday to protest against the recent deadly attack on an Islamic school, known as a madrassa, in the country's northwest.
Hundreds of men gathered, in a sea of the party's red colours, to condemn the October the 30th raid on a school in the Bajur tribal area that killed eighty people.
Locals say the dead were all students.
Pakistan's President, Gen. Pervez Musharraf , has reiterated that the air strike killed extremist militants.
Following the raid, which sparked furious protests in the area, military officials claimed the seminary was being used to train militants.
A cleric who ran the school and whom authorities said had been sheltering senior al-Qaida operatives was killed in the raid.
But lawmakers from Jamaat-e-Islami, Pakistan's largest opposition Islamic party, released a list with the victims' names, ages and addresses.
They claimed the document showed that all but three were children or teenagers.
As the demonstration gathered pace, security forces also gathered, eventually attempting to break up the protest by firing tear gas.
