Muktinath temple is a sacred site located in the Mustang district of Nepal at an altitude of 3,800m, revered by both Hindus and Buddhists. It holds great religious significance for its spiritual importance and breathtaking natural surroundings.

Muktinath is one of the 108 Divya Dreams, which are holy shrines for vaishnavite Hindus. It is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is believed to grant salvation(moksha) to those who visit. Pilgrims believe that bathing in the 108 waterspouts surrounding the temple, known as Muktidhara, will purify them of their sins and grant them liberation from the cycle of birth and death.

Buddhists regard it as a place of Nirvana and consider the deity in the temple as Avalokiteshvara, the embodiment of compassion.

The Temple is small and houses an idol of Lord Vishnu, also known as Mukti Narayana.

108 water spouts(Muktidhara), these spouts are shaped like cow heads, and pilgrimage baths under them for purification.
