Victoria, BC, Canada from Vancouver (using only public transit)

It will be a very long day but it's possible to visit Victoria in one day. For the most amount of time in Victoria, you would need to leave Downtown Vancouver before 5:30am to catch the first bus (6:00 am) from Richmond to the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal. You will arrive in Downtown Victoria at about 10:00am.

The last sailing to return to Vancouver is usually at 9:00pm. To be safe, you may wish to leave Victoria before 6:00pm in order to catch the 8:00pm sailing. You will have up to 8 hours in Victoria.

Adjust the schedule if you only need a shorter time in Victoria but here's the schedule for the above:

~ 5:30 am - Take Skytrain (Canada Line towards YVR Airport or
Richmond Brighouse). Get off at Bridgeport Station --
the first stop after crossing over the Fraser River.

6:00 am - Take Bus 620 (Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal) from Bay 12
6:30 am - Buy Ferry Ticket to Swartz Bay (North of Victoria)
7:00 am - Ferry from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay (~ 1 hour 35 minutes)
8:43 am - Take Bus 70 from Bay A
~10:00 am - Arrive in Victoria

~5:00 pm - Take Bus 70 back to Swartz Bay
8:00 pm - Ferry back to Tsawwassen
Take Bus 620 (Bay 2) back to Bridgeport Station
Canada Line towards Waterfront Station
