After the overwhelming response for our videos on Mylapore Mundagakanni Amman and Mylapore Kolavizhi Amman temples, we now visit a unique and sacred spot – Sakthi Vaintha Amman / Suyambu Nagathamman Temple, located in Naidu Mottur village, just 5 km from Thiruttani towards Nagalapuram road.

🌾 The Temple & Its Divine Power
This is a Puttru Koil (termite mound temple), where the Nagathamman – the Snake Goddess – resides. Here, devotees believe that worshipping snakes is equivalent to worshipping the divine Mother herself.
The priests and devotees share fascinating stories of how the Goddess, appearing as a white snake, has blessed them with boons, solved their life problems, and protected their families.

📿 Special Poojas & Beliefs

Special poojas are performed every Tuesday & Friday.

The Goddess is believed to reveal herself to true devotees.

The “darshan” of the white snake is said to remove obstacles, cure illnesses, and grant wishes.

🏡 A Temple in a Backyard
This temple stands in the backyard of Durai Babu’s house, whose ancestors have directly witnessed the Goddess in the form of a white snake. We interview him as he shares his incredible experience.
