We got to sit down and talk to @bhavana_somayaji who is a great social dancer in our opinion. She gives some tips on social dancing etiquette and here's a summary of her points:

1. Don't just grab a person without knowing them. Go up to them, approach them politely, make eye contact, and ask them if they would like to dance. Outside rules still apply in social dancing, you don't just grab strangers from the streets, its the same way at a social dancing scene.

2. Don't get too close right away leads. Give your follow some space and you can build up to it if the song calls for it, or you can pay attention to your follow and see if they initiates. Use the law of cylinder rule, you should be able to create a cylinder with your arms and put that over your follows head, that's usually a good distance to dance with your follow.

3. And for the follows, do not make assumptions about your leads. Give them space to explore and learn, they are in a stressful position if they're new and there's often a lot of pressure to perform well, the same thing could be said to leads also.
